I've always loved old pin-ups and WWII airplane nose art, and I've been wanting to do something in homage to my favorite pin-up artist, George Petty, for the longest time. By some sheer miracle I sketched this out earlier this year based off of one of his works, [link] , and of course I was too much of a chicken to try finishing it at the time. Thank goodness I waited until I got my cintiq! I'm very very happy with how this came out! It also kinda doubles as a progression piece to this one I did back in 2006 [link] ! So hurray for my first pin-up! It even has the shocked animal element in it! (just missing some surprised dapper guys and bloomers around her ankles)

My female cat character, Crystal: She looks so great! I wonder if she'd let me borrow that outfit sometime. :)

*My male rabbit character, Nathaniel blushes a deep red through his fur and faints*

Crystal: (panicking) Oh my God! Nathaniel! What happened?! *tries to revive him*

Nathaniel's little sister, Nina: I think he was imagining you in that costume. :3

You know, A more accurate piece of WWII Nose-Art should show Naobi lying down on her stomach, And cradling a bomb or rifle, Or turning Hitler into a rabbit...*Chuckle*

Also, Do you remember "The Flying Tigers" and their shark art?

This particular piece isn't nose art, it's an homage to pin up artist, George Petty. There's a link in the description.

Yeh, I'd have that on the side of my bomber.

Also, I've verily noticed that your style has changed somewhat dramatically. Freakin' A Liz, it's looking good.

That is the result of my crazy kungfu training the last two years of college and my internship. You pick up lots of sweet skills, brushes, and textures when you're in a tiny room with 17 illustrators all day! But yeah, I finally have time to draw for myself here and there and can't really believe how much my style has changed.

makes sense. I can only see my art as becoming somewhat more poppy and comic-like, but since I had to unlearn drawing to learn animation properly, I haven't been able to develop away from the slight anime-ness. I guess that's my style, and it'll stick with me for life XP

Also, I'm craving some OC. When I get my new MSN sign in, I'll poke your head to pieces.

Amg, I love that era. I've never tried a pinup before, hmm... I'm not so sure it'd work well with my characters, haha. *tries to imagine the 40-year-old angry orc lady striking a pose* *bleeds profusely from the eyes*

Love the color choice and stuff here. :>
